1-Butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate is a colorless to light-yellow, viscous liquid at ambient conditions, supplied with a purity ≥98 % (HPLC) and water content <500 ppm . It has a melting point of -8 °C and a glass transition of -76 °C, ensuring liquid behavior well below room temperature . The density is 1.37-1.38 g/mL at 20 °C, facilitating convenient volumetric handling . Its viscosity of ~310 mPa·s at 25 °C and ionic conductivity of ~1.37 mS/cm at 20 °C provide a balance between fluidity and charge transport. BMIM-PF6 exhibits an electrochemical stability window of ~4.0 V (anodic limit ~2.2 V, cathodic limit -1.8 V) and decomposes above 200 °C under inert atmosphere .  Low volatility and negligible vapor pressure make it safe for high-temperature or vacuum processes
